practical terms how reactive filtration can be a cost-effective means of
dealing with a specific contaminant such as mercury, as well as how
adsorption is a critical component in efficient treatment system
design. Dr. Newcombe is the 2009 recipient of the WEF Eddy
Medal for vital contribution to the existing knowledge of the fundamental
principles or process of wastewater treatment, as comprehensively
described and published in a WEF periodical.
