We
are currently conducting pilot projects across the United States and internationally to provide a variety of
wastewater treatment solutions. Blue Water offers mobile units for pilot projects, remediation projects, and
seasonal or other temporary needs. The units are available in a variety of sizes and configurations, are
suitable for many applications, and are equipped with process control and monitoring capability. Depending
on the situation, the units may be staffed by Blue Water personnel, we may provide training to on site
operators, or the units may be remotely monitored.

As
a precursor to pilot-scale field work, Blue Water offers bench-scale treatability studies designed to show
efficacy of the its processes for contaminant removal from a given water sample.
The study involves shipping a 5-gallon sample container to your site and drawing a water sample
from an agreed location. The sample is then sent via overnight courier to Blue Water’s laboratory
where a battery of tests are run. These tests include standard EPA analytical methods for
thirty-four different analytes and a bench-scale test of the Blue PRO® and/or Blue
NITE™ process for contaminant removal. The bench-scale test is a 1:100 scale approximation
of the pilot-scale Blue PRO® and/or Blue NITE™ process.
Results from this study give an indication of the reagent(s) and dose(s) needed to remove a variety
of contaminants including phosphorus, arsenic and metals. The test has proven to be a successful
predictor of removal rates observed with pilot-scale Blue PRO® equipment. The Blue
PRO® and Blue NITE™ treatability study allows Blue Water to determine the
potential efficacy of the process and develop a quality assurance project plan (QAPP) for a pilot
project customized to the specific site.
A comprehensive report, including data analysis and a narrative, is the final deliverable.
The Salsnes Filter™ bench-scale test program includes shipping of a cooler, with sample bottles
and instructions, to your facility. The sample is received at Blue Water’s research facility and is
tested with the Salsnes™ bench-scale apparatus.
Results from this test include expected TSS removal rates, loading rates, and the preferred Salsnes
Filter™ mesh size. The test will indicate whether Salsnes is a good fit for the application and
if a pilot test is recommended.
A comprehensive report, including data analysis and a narrative, is the final deliverable.
